Description
An ambiguous perfume, Consort opens with a rush of zesty citrus, a diadem of bergamot, acerbic lemon, mandarin, piquant lime, pithy citrus leaf and the piney gin vibe of crushed juniper berries. A touch of pink pepper adds extra fizz.
Citrus notes are traditionally top notes. Interestingly Consort does not conform to this, the glittering opening tang softens, but its impact illuminates the entire composition. The word consort might seem archaic, but this works in its favour, suggesting formality and embellished formal display.
The heart of Consort is the pearlescence of magnolia and orange blossom washed with Hedione, imparting lustre and sparkle. Patchouli and vetiver in the base add a gentle smokiness in the base, supported by musks and a crystalline amber. Consort is beautiful to wear, the slow fade allowing time to appreciate how quality citrus notes can indeed last and delight.
